Volunteer and Acquisition Coordinator

Position Summary: This position provides support and assistance to the ReStore Manager to ensure that the organization’s mission is upheld and reflected in daily operations. The

Assistant ReStore manager is the primary contact for Volunteer Coordination and Acquisitions.

In Volunteer services, the successful candidate will plan, organize, and implement a successful volunteer program for Habitat. They will recruit, train, and schedule volunteers while promoting and recognizing volunteers for their contribution to the success of the organization’s goals and objectives. Other duties may be assigned by management.

In the Acquisition component, the successful candidate will initiate growth and lasting partnerships with local donors to acquire donations to the ReStore and construction site.

This individual will help oversee the logistics and routing team and purchased product management

Receiving, Sorting and Processing Associate

Assist the receiving team leader and donors by receiving and evaluating donated items for the sales floor; ensure that donated merchandise is sorted and processed for the sales floor; assist in pricing of merchandise in the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in accordance with store pricing guidelines; evaluate the quality of the merchandise by performing the following duties:

  • Work with the receiving team leader, assist to greet donors, unload donations, complete donation receipts.

  • Greet and educate volunteers at the start of the respective shift they are assigned; oversee volunteers working in the receiving area.

  • Be familiar with pricing in the store and the ReStore pricing guide through market comparison and contrast; make recommendations to Store Manager on pricing guidelines

  • Sort both large and smaller items for processing.

  • Assist in cleaning large merchandise with assigned volunteers.

  • Assist with loading items for customers at the west loading door when help is needed in that area

  • Assist customers in the Home Improvement sales area if help is needed in that area.

  • Sweep and clean work area at the end of your shift.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Processing and Customer Service Associate

Ensures that donated small-item merchandise is processed and prepared for sale on the retail floor; ensure the pricing of merchandise in the Habitat for Humanity ReStore is in accordance with store pricing guidelines and reflects the quality of represented merchandise by performing the following essential duties:

  • Works with other warehouse associates to determine pricing, organization, etc.

  • Greets and educates volunteers at the start of the respective shift that are assigned to the small items processing area to ensure they are knowledgeable of their respective task.

  • Sorts small donations to determine salability and pricing level, in accordance with the ReStore pricing guide.

  • Sorts books, organizes and stocks the bookroom.

  • Processes and prices incoming items as needed; makes recommendations to ReStore Manager on pricing guidelines.

  • Knows prices in the store and associated pricing manual through market comparison and contrast; researches unique and high-quality items as needed.

  • Cleans merchandise if no volunteers are available

  • Provides final evaluation of all items prior to placement onto sales floors to determine the quality of item and the associated price; adjusts price of item accordingly.

  • Assists with customer service in the home good section, if help is needed in that area.

  • Assists cashiers with processing sales, as needed.

  • Helps with customer service at the donation drop off area, as needed.

  • Sweeps and cleans work area at the end of your shift; cleans breakroom and restroom as needed.

  • Other duties may be assigned.
